Chavez plays Lyle in the Netflix limited series, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story opposite Javier Bardem, Chloë Sevigny and Cooper Koch. He can also be seen in the horror drama series Grotesquerie as Father Charlie alongside Travis Kelce, Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville. Grotesquerie premiered yesterday on FX.

After being cast, he read many books about the brothers, including Leslie Abramson’s, the Menendez brothers’ defence attorney.
