Je'Von Evans gave it everything he had, but Oba Femi walked out of Heatwave with the NXT Championship thanks to a some-what controversial call.

Oba Femi beat Je'Von Evans at Heatwave on Sunday to retain the NXT Championship. It initially looked like Evans scored a monumental upset when a new referee counted to three, but the original referee ruled that Femi's foot was under the rope. Once the action restarted, Femi quickly finished off Evans to continue his incredible reign.

Meanwhile, Darkstate were successful in their attempt to defeat Hank & Tank for the NXT Tag Team titles. It was Osiris Griffin and Dion Lennox that represented Darkstate, winning after Cutler James interfered, allowing Lennox and Griffin to hit a doomsday device on Tank for the win.
