The Pittsburgh Steelers are two weeks away from starting their 2025 season against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. It will also mark the first time several new stars will don their new threads. Two of those stars are Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf, neither of whom played in the preseason.

Given that back and forth, it's clear Metcalf has already begun lobbying Rodgers to play beyond the 2025 season. And, based on Rodgers' response to Metcalf's comment, it's clear he is keeping an open mind when it comes to his future in Pittsburgh.

With Super Bowl aspirations clearly in mind, the Steelers put together an aggressive offseason. Rodgers was one of the big additions, while DK Metcalf, Jalen Ramsey, and Jonnu Smith were also all acquired via trade. T.J. Watt was also given a long-term lucrative contract extension.
