A man suspected of stabbing a San Jose police officer during a confrontation Tuesday morning is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, police said.

Officials say the suspect was seen carrying a machete inside a Target, prompting a police call that ended with the officer injury.

San Jose police on Wednesday announced the arrest of a 31-year-old man who they say drunkenly pointed a machete at a security guard at Target and then stabbed a police officer in the arm with another weapon in broad daylight.
