Former Seattle Sonics star Shawn Kemp was sentenced Friday to 30 days home detention after pleading guilty to second-degree assault for a 2023 shooting at the Tacoma Mall.

In March 2023, Shawn Kemp allegedly went after two men whom the former basketball star said had broken into his truck to steal valuables. Among those that were reportedly taken were jerseys from Kemp and former longtime SuperSonics teammate Gary Payton, which were scheduled for a charity auction.

During his time suiting up for the Sonics, Kemp wore only jersey No. 40 and put up 16.2 points, 9.6 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game.
