Black Friday 2024 is almost here, but the holiday deals are already here. Here's a look at how the Friday after Thanksgiving came to be all about shopping.

In 1985, one department store manager described the day after Thanksgiving as "a black cloud hanging over" his employees.

The greater Green Bay Walmart stores — 2440 W. Mason St., 2292 Main St. and 1415 Lawrence Drive — will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. On Black Friday, the stores will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., as usual, for shoppers.
