Second Viewing: Badger is more annoying than Skyler
Jul 30, 2018 · I've recently started my second viewing of Breaking Bad after I first watched it back in 2013. I used to be like everyone else and hated Skyler for constantly criticizing Walt. I used to be fine with Badger as he was a nice bit of commit relief. I'm currently at the beginning of season 2, and Badger is insufferable.

Breaking bad has this overarching theme of good vs evil that is completely decoupled from guilt vs innocence. For example, Jesse does horrible things but we know he’s good. Walt does similar things and we know he’s bad. Mike does bad things but we know he’s good. Jack we know is bad.

Badger's happy enough just to make it and keep living his life, and Pete just wants to look out for his people. Once they see how much Jesse is struggling, the dynamic changes.
