Layman's Explanation of Tesla AI Day : r/teslamotors - Reddit
Obviously Tesla was trying to recruit AI researchers, but even so, exposing so much of their architecture was a real OG move. The subtext is that Tesla doesn't care if you try to copy them, because by the time you re-create everything, they will have advanced that much further ahead.
Tesla P40 24GB for possible local AI server build. : r/nvidia - Reddit
Mar 5, 2023 · I’m looking for some advice about possibly using a Tesla P40 24GB in an older dual 2011 Xeon server with 128GB of ddr3 1866mhz ecc, 4x PCIE 3.0 16x lanes, 4GB decoding, to locally host a 8bit 6B parameter AI chatbot as a personal project.
My results using a Tesla P40 : r/LocalLLaMA - Reddit
May 20, 2023 · I've been pleased with my setup. IMO, the P40 is a good bang-for-the-buck means to be able to do a variety of generative AI tasks. I think the 1080 is essentially the same architecture/compute level as the P40. The 24GB VRAM is a good inducement. But I will admit that using a datacenter GPU in a non-server build does have its complications.

Regarding NVIDIA TESLA M40 (24GB), is it the same as an RTX
Mar 7, 2023 · Regarding NVIDIA TESLA M40 (24GB), is it the same as an RTX 4090 (24GB) for chat AI? If we assume budget isn't a concern, would I be better off getting an RTX 4090 that already has 24GB? M40's sell for ~$500 refurbished on Newegg, but M40's don't appear to be gaming GPU's, so wouldn't I be better off spending extra on an RTX 4090 which already has …
Nvidia Tesla M10 - good for anything? : r/homelab - Reddit
Nov 16, 2023 · M10 is Maxwell, quite old so lacking features like tensor cores for fast float16 compute, any support for bfloat16/TF32, not great for Plex (super old version of NVENC hardware), and would be quite energy inefficient and generally slow. It's really 4 GPUs each with 8GB per GPU, which is a limiting factor to do anything super interesting, despite the 32GB …
