Is VMWare better than VirtualBox? : r/virtualization - Reddit
Jan 7, 2022 · "vmware vs virtualbox reddit" I wanted to see if setting up a Linux VM for compiling a couple projects and potentially trying to get an AI up-scaler would be easier than adapting the instruction for Windows.
Which is better for Kali, VirtualBox or VMware? : r/Kalilinux - Reddit
Apr 5, 2022 · I use Kali in VMWare Workstation Pro on my work system as they pay for the license. I use Kali in VirtualBox on my own system as VMWare Player doesn't have as many networking options and can't create snapshots. When using the pre-built images for the VM's from the Kali website, there is not a lot that will go wrong when installing.
M1 virtualization: UTM vs VirtualBox vs VMWare Fusion - Reddit
Jul 19, 2023 · As u/maxs_tearoff so eloquently states, VirtualBox has a very long history of sucking. I just learned last week that Oracle is porting VirtualBox to ASi, and glanced at the documentation out of curiosity. It appears to support only Linux for x86, which is emulation, and also looks like alpha software. I see no reason to consider it further.
Why not virtual box? : r/vmware - Reddit
Dec 29, 2021 · VMware Workstation runs Windows desktop VMs better than VirtualBox. Period. VMware has always done better when it comes to DirectX-based UI/UX and Oracle has no financial incentive to try changing that. VirtualBox is another let-it-die-on-the-vine project Oracle got in the Sun acquisition and they don't really care what happens to it.
If VMWare Workstation is mostly faster than VirtualBox, why?
Jan 1, 2024 · VirtualBox is not just slower, it's essentially dogshit software compared to VMWware Workstation. I recently switched to Workstation Player, and I was absolutely shocked by the difference in performance for CPU workloads, disk speeds, graphics performance, 3D and everything in between.
VirtualBox, VMware, or WSL 2? : r/cybersecurity - Reddit
Oct 19, 2021 · VirtualBox = Free and can do 99% of what you'll need VMWARE = paid for (can use reg edit to get free trial forever but I didn't tell you that) but is easier to get set up and started with. Drag and Drop features work more consistently. Also has a nicer GUI and will look better on a resume if you can say you have experience with VMware
What is the best virtual machine for windows? : r/Windows11
Feb 4, 2022 · Like VMware, VirtualBox can run as Type 1 with Hyper-V enabled (experimental) or Type 2 (supported). Some of the appeal with VirtualBox is the simplicity of setup and that it mostly just works without having to reconfigure settings like VT-x in the BIOS or install arcane features like Hyper-V, etc.
VMWare or Virtualbox? : r/AskNetsec - Reddit
Matter of personal preference. I prefer to use VirtualBox mostly because I'm not going to pay for it, and the free version of VBox comes with more and better tools and features than the free version of VMWare. Plus I don't have to worry about violating any licenses, regardless of the environment I am in; I can drop it in anywhere on any system.
Hyper-V vs. Virtual Box vs. VMware : r/HyperV - Reddit
Dec 13, 2022 · All ESXi, Hyper-V and VirtualBox have the same purpose - running VMs on your machine. ESXi and Hyper-V are industry standard type-1 hypervisors. Hyper-V is present in Windows 10 and 11 Pro or as a free Hyper-V Server (Hyper-V Server 2019 is the latest with no new versions to be released). Which is better totally depends on your use case.
Boxes, VirtualBox, VMware Workstation? Which is better in Fedora?
May 9, 2022 · Then I discovered Virt-Manager, which uses the same backend as Gnome Boxes, but gave me more configuration options, and that was it. I loved it. So, that's what I use now. Oh, and yes, I did try VMware and was not impressed. In ranking, I'd go with 1. Virt-Manager/Gnome Boxes. 2. VirtualBox 3. VMWare.
