God forbid these same businesses end up having to spend extra money so the customer can receive their package faster. These corporations need to learn how to do without less money like the majority of other Americans have to.

This is because Surepost is only supposed to be touched by USPS for the last mile delivery, which means UPS drops it off at the delivery office before it gets delivered to the address on the package. They only get paid a small amount from UPS to deliver for them. UPS is supposed to do the majority of the transportation of that package.

Jun 12, 2020 · Well without being at the UPS location or the USPS location I can’t tell you with any real certainty since I don’t know the conditions of either facility. I know from a UPS stand point we scanned it as given to USPS so UPS thinks it is in USPS hands. For USPS they don’t show a scan in their system so they don’t think they have it.

Then, IF you are already getting a box that day (or a very close neighbor is getting one), UPS will go ahead and make the delivery. If you (or close neighbor) are not getting something else, UPS hands it off to the post office.

My local post office woman showed me a UPS SurePost package that someone left them, and was shaking her head and when I asked her what would happen to it, she said that someone from UPS would have to come pick it up, and she didn’t really care to expedite the process.

Jun 11, 2024 · It can be slow, especially because theres usually around a 1 day delay when transferring from UPS to USPS for the final leg. I do not recommend it for cross country. It's also worth mentioning that theres essentially no insurance on the package since UPS only covers it until they hand it off to the post office.
