A good night at City Hall! Mayor Roberto Alves recently called for an ad hoc committee to adopt the new State of CT tax benefit that assists disabled veterans and veterans who are unable to work. Thanks to the hard work and research of our Tax Assessor Donna Murphy and the advocacy of our Veterans Affairs Director Dan Hayes (featured here), we were able to move this through to a public hearing tonight. It will go for a vote at the November City Council meeting. If passed, we make it just in time
