Some of you may have seen Muntjac deer on the site, but to see a Red Deer is much more unusual. This time of year at Stanwick Lakes often brings a spike in otter sightings across the reserve. As the days grow shorter, our otters become increasingly diurnal (active in the day and sleeping at night) – taking advantage of the warmer daylight hours to hunt. That means visitors have a better chance of spotting them, especially around dawn and dusk.
