Suffolk Fire & Rescue opened its newest fire station this morning, marking both an expansion of public safety services in Suffolk and a solemn remembrance of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Fire Station 11, located at 6482 Hampton Roads Parkway, became operational at 8 a.m. The facility will house Engine 11, Ladder 11, Medic 11 and Rescue 2, with a staff of 14 firefighters, paramedics and officers providing 24-hour coverage.
