If you're going to drink alcohol, one of the first things I'd pay attention to is when you're drinking it. Alcohol may make you feel sleepy initially, but it can disrupt sleep architecture later in the night, including REM sleep, and leave you feeling far less rested the next morning. My preference is no alcohol. But if you're going to drink, give your body more time between your last drink and bedtime. Don't confuse falling asleep faster with actually sleeping better.
