Great news on the post-fire recovery of some of East Gippsland’s unique native wildlife! The Southern Ark team have deployed wildlife-monitoring cameras at over 360 forest sites to check on wildlife recovery following last year’s fires. The cameras have shown a variety of animal and bird activity, including some of our more endangered species like Long-footed Potoroos. These potoroos are only found in forests in East Gippsland and north-east Victoria, and no-one knew if they’d be able to survive
